Creative Writing Final Reflection Post

1.      I had a good variety of writing subjects this quarter.  I truly enjoyed almost all of them.  But with that being said, a few of the pieces that I did stand out to me more than the rest.  One of those pieces being the very first blog post that we did in this class. The “I am” poem.” It was a poem, obviously, but it was something more. I was able to express too many people who may not know me or know anything about me that I truly love aviation. I incorporated different parts of flight or parts of a plane into my blog post. I was also able to form it into a really neat shape, even though I didn’t mean to. Another thing that stood out to me was the writing we did in our journal over a few pictures that our awesome teacher Mrs. Fraser showed us on the overhead.  The one picture that I really took to heart was one of two dogs going down a farm road.  I wrote about a page, maybe more, on that picture. I believe that I made the dogs stray, and the house in the back ground was going to be their new home.  The farmer in the house took them in and gave them some food and water.  But after a while, the dogs grew on the farmer and his wife and they eventually ended up keeping both dogs as their own.  It was a good story and I thought that it was pretty neat that I was able to turn just a single picture into such an elaborate story. Something else that we did that I truly enjoyed was doing the reflection questions about “Dan in real life.” I really thought that the irony in the movie was really put into the movie at the correct places so that the movie didn’t seem too fake or cheesy.
2.      Unfortunately, I do not enjoy reading very much, it only bores me.  There are a few things that I have been able to really get into and read. The latest thing that I was able to get into was the “Hunger Games.” I picked it up because we were in the library one day, and I had heard all of the hype about it, so I thought it could serve as a good book for me. So far, out of all of the books that I have been able to really get into, “Hunger Games” has been the best book for me so far.  I also enjoyed reading other people’s surveys that were posted on their blogs.  Especially Andrea’s, not only because I really like her, but because she was completely honest in her answers and it really does tell you a lot about her. I really enjoy learning about other people and their interests and comparing them to mine. It really makes me stop and evaluate what my life is like and see how it would be if it were something like the other persons.
3.      Setting up my blog was actually very cool because, outside of Facebook and Youtube, I have never had anything like that where other people could see my work publicly. The process was very fluid and not very time consuming, it actually surprised me to how easy it was and how quick it was. The name for my blog was “My Blog.” I couldn’t think of anything over the top to name it. But the name that I did give my blog gave it some personality of its own. I know that my friends that I have in this class are going to read it, and also some strangers that I may not know. But I have not really told anyone else about my personal blog. So anyone outside of this class would not really know that it was there or that it was mine. Although, I do think that if someone sees it and is into aviation, I believe that they would read it. I really want Andrea Neal to read my blog because I think that she has learned a lot about me through my writing.  For the future, that will be hard to tell. I really would like to continue to use my blog to write different pieces that come to my mind but I’m not sure what I will write exactly.
4.      I have always enjoyed writing a great deal. When we were given our journals, I was really excited to have the opportunity to have some things that I would be writing in a personal journal read by a teacher.  My journal contains different things, depending on what kind of mood I was in that day.  Some things that are in my journal are extremely good, and others are not quite up to par with what I would like to have written. There are mostly stories in my journal but there are also a few other things. Things such as a few diary entrees a long with a few things on Andrea. This is because she was always around me a lot during this class and she would always be on my mind so it was a lot easier to write about what was on my mind than not. I really hope that I will continue my journal, but with summer coming up TOMMOROW I’m not sure if I will be able to have the desire to do it. If I did write, I would most likely like to write about going to different airports and watching the planes take off and land.
5.       If I were to have the hands of someone in the world, it would be the hands of a pilot. This is obviously because I would love to be a pilot and travel, not just across America, but also across the entire world. I’d like to travel to places like South America (Spanish speaking countries) but also to places like China, Japan, Australia, or even to South Africa. If I could be anyone in the world for one single day, I would take two days, because I could not fit it all into one. For the first day, I would be the president of the United States and take, as Obama would put it “ An official trip to Spain.” Aboard Air Force One of course, with me flying it. The next day, after I get back from my free trip, I would be a fighter jet pilot of an F-22 or the even newer F-35. Just because I would like to see all of the new technology and upgrades to the avionics in the planes. I’d also like to be able to go mach 2.0 and shoot another plane out of the sky. That would be a pretty sweet two days for me. But I just hope that I don’t give Andiy a heart attack.
6.
To the everlasting credit of the people of district 12, not one person claps. Not even the ones holding the betting slips, the ones who are usually beyond caring. Possibly because they knew me from the hob, or knew my father, or have encountered Prim, who no one can help loving. So instead of acknowledging applause, I stand there unmoving while they take part in the boldest form of dissent they can manage. Silence. Which says we do not agree. We do not condone. All of this is wrong.
Then something unexpected happens. At least, I don't expect it because I don't think of district 12 as a place that cares about me. But a shift has occurred since I stepped up to take Prim's place, and now it seems I have become someone precious. At first one, then another, then almost every member of the crowd touches the three middle fingers of their left hand to their lips and holds it out to me. It is and old and rarely used gesture of our district, and occasionally seen at funerals. It means thanks, it means admiration, it means good-bye to someone you love.

This is very meaningful to me because sometimes in life there are things that you do not know what to do or how to even handle them.  Life is always so unexpected and just in your face and all over the place.  We are literally faced with life or death situations every single day and yet most of us, like Katniss, find a way to just keep going.  There are people out there who don’t make it to the finish line though.  People who just fall short of their own expectations or even just the world’s expectation.  I really hate that because life is such a precious thing that we have.  It is the most powerful thing in the universe that we have control of and I hate it when people  just throw it away for nothing.  We find ourselves only being so dominated by only caring about how we fit in and how society will look upon each and every one of us.  In 2001, more than 10 years ago, there were 30,000 suicides in the United States alone. These people were in situations they couldn’t handle, or going through life thinking that no one cared.  The fact is that we all care.  I could not go through my life thinking that I could have done something more to save someone’s life just by careing. By doing the gesture with their hands, district twelve showed their support for Katniss. They reached out to her, they showed her that they cared.  This could have been something that was key in her (possible) survival during the Hunger Games.  Saving a life is just as easy as caring. Even for someone that is lazy, that’s pretty easy to do.   And in this day of technology, we barely even have to raise a finger or even get off of the couch.  CARE!

Dan in real life

1. I do think that it is fairly important to write about what you know. Dan however appears to not be the greatest parent at certain times in the movie. In a way it is actually quite ironic. But in another way, he is in the perfect position to know a lot about parenting because he his a single parent.
2. There could be a lot said to parents of teenagers. Every teenager is different, so the advice has to be general and parents would be able to tailor it to their own specific situation. The first thing that I would tell parents would be to listen to your teenager. Hear them out. The second thing that I would tell them would be when you as a parent are wrong, admit it. Don't continue like you're completly right. Kids just truly hate that. For the thrid piece of advice that I would give some parents of teenagers would be that most kids do not do drugs. Do not always assume that that is what they are out doing. You can think that in the back of your mind, but don't let the kids know that you are thinking that, because it gets very annoying if they are not doing drugs.

3. Yes, I would absolutly love to write for a newspaper. I believe that I would be great on a few things. The first of which possibly being a writer or correspondent on politics. Another thing that I believe that I would be able to do great at would be being an aviation or airline industry analyst or correspondent. The only other thing that I can think of being for a newspaper would be a business analyst. I enjoy all of these things and I also believe that I have sufficent knowlage of all of these industries to beable to be a successful writer about all of them.

4. Yes I strongly believe that is what he is wanting his childreen to do in the matter. He remindes me a lot of a person named Barrak.  He tells the business world not to give the bosses large sums of money as a bonus when the company is failing. In the same moment, half of the government working force gets a large sum of money as a bonus. That makes sense? Many people hate Obama for being so hypacrytical... This seems to be the same thing with Dan's childreen. This phylosophy just simply does not work at all. It is not fair at all because he is being a hypocrit.

5.  I think that it is cool for someone to date if they like the other person. Age should not really factor into things. Unless they are dating with the entention of marrying the other person then they should atleast be out of college or wait a few years after getting out of high school because then you are not really sure of what the real world is truly like. You may have an idea but you never really know what something is like until you really experience it. For the question about thongs; no clue.

Questions!!!????

1. Any of the Marvel films, just completly awesome.
2. Vampire movies.
3. Imax, when there is a new movie out that I want to see, I'll go see it.
4. Food.
5. If my life was a movie, it would be awesome.
6.This survey says... that I like movies with a lot of action.
Ole normally mentions that I am fat. This, to me, is very offensive. He is from Germany, so he's foreign, but yet he can do English grammer better than Andiy. Ole always loses the game, but yet he always wins? He's crazy, and I cannot wait to hear him call me fat or obese over skype...
